TREK (Together Reaching Every Kid)
One hour per week can make a real difference in a
child's life!
Now in its tenth year, TREK is an after-school tutoring program
designed to assist Joplin elementary students with reading and math.
TREK is a joint effort of Joplin Schools, the Joplin Chamber
of Commerce, and community volunteers like you! TREK has been very successful in helping Joplin students!
TREK volunteers spend one hour per week
working with a student in the 3rd, 4th or 5th grade on basic skills.
The 2010-2011 program begins Monday, September 20th and runs through the end of April 2011. Tutoring occurs from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the elementary schools on the days indicated:
Cecil Floyd: Tuesday & Thursday
Columbia: Tuesday & Thursday
Duenweg: Monday & Thursday
Duquesne: Monday & Tuesday
Eastmorland: Monday & Tuesday
Emerson: Monday & Tuesday
Irving: Monday & Thursday
Jefferson: Tuesday & Thursday
Kelsey Norman: Tuesday & Thursday
McKinley: Tuesday & Thursday
Royal Heights: Monday & Thursday
Stapleton: Monday & Tuesday
West Central: Monday & Tuesday

Training and supplies are provided. A training session will be held for all new and any returning tutors who wish to attend on September 13th or September 16th at 3:30 PM at Memorial Education Center, 310 W. 8th Street.
