What is a Videoconference Field Trip?
Videoconference Field Trips (VFTs) are live, interactive distance learning experiences that allow Joplin students to visit educational locations without leaving the classroom! Students can see and talk with experts from organizations such as the San Diego Zoo and NASA through audio and video communication components.
All VFTs are aligned with the Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) and are scheduled by our Teaching Specialists who evaluate the needs of each grade level as well as the content provider's curriculum that best matches these goals.
Some of the key content providers that we work with include: NASA, the Aquatic Research Institute, the San Diego Zoo, and Cleveland Health Museum. Joplin Schools has 13 VFT units throughout the district.
