With a 2.5 to 1 student-to-computer ratio, the Joplin School District takes technology seriously. We understand that for students to live, learn, and work successfully in an increasingly complex and information-rich society, they must be able to use technology effectively.

Technology within the Classroom

We offer Internet-connected computers in all classrooms and libraries, and our Technology Specialists help teachers and students integrate technology into the learning process. Also, thanks to instructional technology programs like iTEK, we are able to supply many students with interactive white boards, handheld computers, laptops, and wireless Internet.

Live, interactive Videoconference Field Trips (VFT's) offer Joplin students opportunities to see and talk with experts from organizations such as the San Diego Zoo and NASA. These distance learning experiences reinforce classroom lessons and are aligned with the Missouri Assessment Program. Click here to learn more about our VFT's.

TV Production Studio and JET-14 Cable Channel

Joplin High School students interested in TV production and broadcasting enjoy learning in our new 1300 square foot, fully-equipped television studio. Located on the JHS campus, we operate our very own cable channel from the studio twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Online Parent Communication Tools

Joplin parents can access their child’s academic and attendance information online! Campus Portal is a convenient tool that allows Joplin parents to track their child's academic progress via an easy-to-use web site.
